my petite farmhouse

These pic's are of my house, my 1910 farmhouse.

When we moved to Illinois last July, I knew this place was for me.

I told my husband, that if we were moving to the midwest, then I wanted an old charming house. Well, it's charming and I love it.

open, open, open

Lola B and The French Flea........

This one day event will take place Saturday, April 12th from 10-6.

If you haven't heard me talk about The French Flea, then let me update you...

The French Flea, will be on the "other" side of the house where Lola B's resides, a

french flea market style shopping experience.

I'm testing the market with this one day only event.

All Furniture, and some smalls, all priced to go.

Get there early if you can, and be prepared to be

enchanted. Of course, no french shopping experience

would be without some lovely fresh baked goodies.

See you there.....

Vintage seam binding

I'm lucky enough to have some pretty creative and talented friends.
My friend Donna, who makes the lovely tags, and Seam binding that I sell in the shop, is truly one of those!
I can't get enough of all that she offers me!
Just one of the "gotta have it" things offered here at Lola B's!

An assortment of branches from my yard, displaying the binding and tags.

Introducing the real "Lola"

This girl here, she's the real Lola.
She just left for a date with her dad to go to the
father~daughter dance at the local rec center.
What's so funny about this, is that Lola is not a girly
girl. She would rather be in jeans, but this morning she got
up and stated that she wanted a real dress for tonight.
Anyone that knows my Lola, knows she doesn't like dresses.
So, when we went shopping(last minute), she wanted a frilly dress. Well............................her idea of frilly is NOT my idea of frilly. So, we compromised, and here we are with a simple "fancy" dress.
Case closed.
I love her:)

....and check out these hand knit booties with small florals on the side................

makes me want another baby girl.......hmm, maybe i'll think about that one.

A shabby baby girl

When I saw these baby girl dresses, i knew i had to have them!

I also knew of the perfect way to display them, since i had an old white chandelier with cherubs on it.

The Kane County Flea

With business at it's slowest, this last month of February,

I made the decision to step it up and signed up to

bring my petite boutique with me to

the Kane County Flea Market.

For those of you familiar with large (and well known) flea

markets, you either have it or you don't.

My flea market, which I'll call "Kane" from now forward, is a once

a month event that draws thousands. Now when I say thousands, i mean, normally,

warm and favorable months of the year!

Kane has been closed the last few months due

to some construction, and March was going to be good,

considering this was the first month back after a 2 month hiatus.

I signed up, mind you, getting the last indoor spot available.

whew.

And away we go............................................

I have to say, for me being a "newby" to the Kane,

I held on by the seat of my pants to see what would happen.
Did i mention that i was stuck between mullet matt
and ranger rick?
No worries, though....lol!
With that being said, the Kane was a huge success and
"Thank you" to my lovely new friend and customer Julie
who drove quite a ways just to come see me and then
took her sister to my shop for a looksie.
